Question:
Have received the post mortem results back yet? In Harry's story you indicated that you are waiting to see if you are the carrier of the Mitochondrial disease.

Answer:
Harry's post-mortem came back inconclusive, they found a mitochondrial enzyme in his liver but nowhere else. His little biopsies has been sent to Paris for further analysis and we should get the results back at the end of June. The consultant did say that this does not mean his other organs were not affected, just that they could not identify the genes with the disease. The good news is that they also think it was either a rogue gene, or recessive, that is where my partner and I both carry the defective gene and have 25% chance of having another baby with a mitochondrial disease. It does give me some comfort in knowing that we do have the chance of having a healthy child, should the heavens above allow baby dust to be sprinkled upon us once again.
